On our first night in Cape Town, after a couple of hours in the sun, we got dressed to revisit The Waterfront, where I hadn’t been for twelve years. It was a treat to compare the filled-in-the-blanks memories I had with what stood in actuality. A nostalgic and yet fresh evening provided us with learning about rhino poaching, professional gambling and fully booked restaurants.
Achieving good style means not turning your back on what works for you for the sake of trends but it is also having the aptitude to adapt to your surroundings. If I wore this off the shoulder top in London I just don’t think it would work, with the gold accents it would feel more real housewives than real chic. Yet with the backdrop of ocean views and pink skies I love it. I bunched up the sleeves and teamed it with a knee length denim skirt and pink and white heels, sun-dried hair and a cosmopolitan.
